Here's some fun fun facts about Pluto and its characteristics

These are the facts:

• Pluto has five moons! All the while being smaller than most planets. The Disney character Pluto, a dog, is said to have been named after the former planet.
• It is one third of water, three times more than planet earth.
• Pluto takes the longest time of the eight planets (248 Earth years) to orbit around the sun!

• An 11-year-old girl gave Pluto its name. Venetia Burney’s grandfather told her the news of the newly discovered planet, she proposed the name Pluto.
• Pluto was discovered on February 18th, 1930 by the Lowell Observatory.
• The now-famous image of Pluto from New Horizons has a large heart-shaped feature toward the lower right. Astronomers believe this lighter-colored region is caused by frost, specifically frozen methane, nitrogen, and carbon monoxide.
